GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ALL STUDENTS

I. Attendance
Attendance of every performance of the Midwest City High School Band is required for continued enrollment in the program. The Midwest City High School Band marches at every home and away football game. Please understand -- MEMBERS ARE COMMITTED FOR EVERY FOOTBALL GAME OF THE SEASON, INCLUDING PLAYOFF GAMES, IF ANY. As band is a performance class, ALL members are expected to attend ALL concert, without exception. A complete schedule of our performances for the school year will be given to you at school and will be available here on the website.

II. Necessary purchases and costs for Marching Band
Marching band uniforms are provided to at no cost by Midwest City High School. You will need to purchase or provide the following accessories to be worn with the marching uniform:

1) A pair of black MARCHING SHOES (No regular shoes! They must be the decided brand - approximate cost -- $25). If you do not already have a pair of these, you can order them from the directors.

2) Band T-shirt (approximate cost $15 - cost depends on size) to be worn under the uniform at all times.

3) A pair of black socks (at least calf length).

4) A pair of shorts to be worn under the uniform pants. In colder weather, sweats may be worn. NO JEANS.

5) A pair of plain white gloves (except percussion and guard). Gloves can be purchased from the directors at the start of school. Approximate cost: $3.00

6) Some sort of cushion or blanket to sit on in the stands (to protect the uniform).

7) Garment Bag (approximate cost $15)

* Please keep this uniform neat and clean. They have to last us many more years and at their age, they won't take a lot of abuse. Do not throw it in your trunk until the next game. As you will see when picking a uniform out, there are a lot of them, but there are also a lot of them that need attention. Remember that some of these were bought in 1991 and that the other half are from 1996 (when the band doubled in size). With the current budget crisis, these will have to last until at least 2008.

III. Additional costs
Both boys and girls will wear the concert uniform (not the concert dress for girls) unless otherwise notified.

Black bow tie – approximate cost, $6
Out of State Trip/Competition (if it is a trip year)
Solo/Ensemble/Honor Band fees (if auditioning)
